內容簡介 英國小說家 Douglas Adams為了廣播劇，創作了一系列小說作品，這本是其中一本，在書迷暱稱為「H2G2」的《HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY》，以諸事不順的Arthur Dent為主角，有一天發現他的好友Ford Prefect竟然是個外星人，由Prefect口中得知外星人正有一項重要的工程準備進行，而這項星際大工程卻要把阻擋這道路的障礙地球給摧毀。之後Arthur搭上他朋友的太空船遠離這即將被毀滅的場所，在這趟前往太空的冒險過程中他可遇到許多有趣的故事。作者在2004年因心臟病發作猝死，得年四十九歲，不過該部小說已經由迪士尼旗下的正金石電影公司改編成電影，由 Garth Jennings 執導即將在今年上映。

作者介紹

作者介紹 Douglas Adams was born in Cambridge in March 1952 and was educated at Brentwood School, Essex, before attending St. John’s College, Cambridge, where he received a B.A. and later an M.A. in English literature. A writer for radio, television, and theater, he was the creator of all the various manifestations of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Galaxy, which started as a radio show and then became a series of novels, a TV show, an album, a computer game, and several stage adaptations. Adams died on May 11, 2001.
