內容簡介
內容簡介 The Acoustic Guitar, Volume II, is the long-awaited sequel to Don E. Teeter's earlier volume on guitar adjustment, care, maintenance, and repair. The first volume provides detailed instructions on disassembling and assembling guitars, describes the tools and materials used in their repair, and give step-by-step procedures for major and minor repairs, inlay work, and refinishing. The second volume updates this material with new techniques and instructions on how to custom design tools and equipment to simplify the job of repairing and refurbishing guitars. Volume II offers shortcuts to a quality repair job. Teeter develops numerous new tools and jibs to same time, such as the string tension simulation jig, which will help remove the last vestige of guesswork from refretting. Glues and their use in repairing cracks, tension rod adjustments, the use of pearl inlay, and finishing and refinishing are discussed. Imported plywood guitars and their unique problems are also covered, and Teeter offers pointers on how to repair them and even improve their sound production. More than two hundred detailed line drawings and photographs show how to create many time-saving tools, as well as how to use them effectively. The Acoustic Guitar, Volume II, is a supplement to Teeter's first book and should be used in conjunctions with it. For all those who have read and used the techniques developed in the first volume, this new book should prove to be an equally valuable reference.
