內容簡介

內容簡介 Value investing moves in and out of favour, but the data doesn’t lie. It has always worked, and will continue to work ― as long as investors apply a value discipline and invest for the long term.In The Case for Long-Term Value Investing, experienced Wall Street pro Jim Cullen presents the eye-opening data that backs this up, explaining how investors can use the value approach for successful investing today, as well as sharing a wealth of fascinating stories from his time on the Street.Discover:-The true principles of value investing Jim’s stock-picking method in detail Inspiring case studies of successful value investments How to apply the value discipline through practical strategies.-The Case for Long-Term Value Investing also includes a concise history of the last 100 years of market history ― showing just how crazy the market can be ― with a review of bear markets, recessions, bubbles, melt-ups, interest rates, and much, much more.-The Case for Long-Term Value Investing is the ultimate introductory guide to how and why value investing works, how to understand the markets, and how to be a successful investor. The book is divided into seven sections:1. The first section covers market history over the last 100 years. The purpose is to show how volatile and unpredictable markets are over time.2. The second section is the core of the book, which is the investment strategy itself. Here we focus on Ben Graham’s advice to be a long-term investor.3. Section Three, Market Timing, is extraordinarily important because trying to time the market has often been referred to as the silent killer of long-term performance.4. In Section Four we look at the stock selection process—here we depart from the theoretical and deal with the tricky venture of picking stocks.5. Section Five outlines how the discipline strategy can be applied to various investing styles.6. Section Six is about understanding the market, following Graham’s comments that the reason why most investors don’t do well in the market is because they tend to overreact and do not really understand the workings of the market.7. In the last section, Getting Started, we provide some advice for new investors. I believe that for those readers who are new investors, this could be the most important chapter in the book.
